2010 = best year yet

Posted by Payne on 12th December 2009

I’m really looking forward to 2010.   Planning to make it the best year yet.

So much so, while in Denver last month, I purchased my 2010 planner.    A Quo vadis brand daily journal.   It’s nice that Quo vadis is a Latin phrase meaning “Where are you going?”

gpg with large files

Posted by Payne on 7th December 2009

http://www.mail-archive.com/gnupg-users@gnupg.org/msg03555.html says

gpg < bigfile.pgp > bigfile

Odd that this trick needs to be used when dealing with large files.

Best free 411 yet?

Posted by Payne on 29th June 2009

Google’s new 1-800-goog411 service is very handy!    One of my favorite parts is at the start of the call, you hear “this call is being recorded.”

Hunger

Posted by Payne on 5th March 2009

From Neil Young’s Crime in the City:

The artist looked at the producer
The producer sat back
He said, What we have got here
Is a perfect track
But we don’t have a vocal
And we don’t have a song
If we could get these things accomplished
Nothin’ else could go wrong.
So he balanced the ashtray
As he picked up the phone
And said, Send me a songwriter
Who’s drifted far from home
And make sure that he’s hungry
Make sure he’s alone
Send me a cheeseburger
And a new Rolling Stone.
Yeah.
